My journey in CrossFit started about seven years ago now, when I decided to give CrossFit a try with my roommate at the time, in my home town of Keizer, Oregon. I fell in love with the community and the competitive aspect of the sport. I had just finished playing college baseball and was looking for something new to fill the void. I walked into a class at CFW 1.0 about six years ago and I’ve never looked back.
CrossFit has been a large part of my life to say the least; I met my wife at CrossFit, I got my first coaching job in the fitness industry at CFW, and I met five of the eight groomsmen in my wedding because of the community at CFW. My favorite thing about coaching is helping athletes along in their fitness journey. For some, that’s competitive CrossFit and for some, that’s losing weight and being a role model for their kids. My life is built around coaching. I also coach strength and conditioning for teams at Oregon City High School, and I’m the head baseball coach of the Portland Pickles in the West Coast League. I was recently named the WCL coach of the year in 2018.
