April Athlete of the Month
After teaching high school language arts all day at Sherwood High School, Sarah walks through the doors at CFW with a HUGE smile on her face ready to take on the WOD with the 4:30pm class.Sarah welcomes new people with her genuine smile, makes conversation with everyone she comes into contact with, and stays to cheer on every last athlete. Sarah has stepped up her nutrition game and has seen some incredible results. Sarah also participated in her first CrossFit Open this year and set a goal to eat clean the entire open!
If you could have a magical power, what would it be?
To have unlimited energy!
Who is the person at CFW who most inspires you to push harder?
Oh man, everyone.
What genre of music do you prefer during the WOD?
Hip-hop and rap
Which super hero do you most identify with?
Sometimes I feel like The Flash, trying to be a good mom for Jack and Hazel, good partner for Brian, and good teacher for my high school students, while also trying to take care of myself, most of the time, in a hurry.
If you could eliminate one movement from CrossFit, which one would it be?
I can't think of a movement I would want to eliminate, but the pull-up is definitely the hardest thing for me right now.
What is your biggest accomplishment since starting CrossFit?
Making broccoli a part of my breakfast routine. And overcoming my fear of the box jump.
What is some advice you'd give to someone new to CrossFit?
Just get yourself to class and push yourself a little harder each day; eat your vegetables and drink TONS OF WATER.
Definitely a bear. If I could sleep through the winter, I would. I need my sunshine! And I'm kind of scary when I'm hungry.
